Get involved
The IBX team regularly meets with neighbors, civic organizations, and community groups along the corridor to share information, hear concerns and priorities, and understand local needs. Feedback from these conversations helps inform project planning and design, ensuring the IBX is constructed with future riders and nearby communities in mind. Outreach will continue throughout the design and construction process to keep communities informed and engaged.

Engagement to date
What we’ve heard so far
We have received thousands of comments to date with priorities for station and urban realm design, vehicles, and overall user experience. Top priorities we've heard based on recent engagement are highlighted below.
- Mobility and wayfinding: Ease of getting safely to and from stations, including clear wayfinding and lighting
- Micromobility connections: Bike and scooter storage, rentals and access
- Green spaces and neighborhood identity: Adding to and maintaining current parks and greenery around stations
- Fast, easy to use stations: Design that allows quick transfers, clear signage, real-time information and accessibility
- Safety: Ample lighting and platform barriers
- Vehicle interior: Allows for easy rider circulation and comfort for passengers
- Seating: Flexible, accessible, and clean for passengers of all sizes and needs
- Connectivity and transfers: Convenient and accessible connections from the IBX to existing transit lines
- Operations and service: Reliability of frequency, hours of operation, ridership, and fares
- Universal design: Maximize access and functionality for all riders
- Core design consideration: Accessibility should be incorporated from day one
- Specific elements of accessibility: Clear sightlines, tactile floor tiles leading to wide fare gates, pass-through elevators with wider cabs, level boarding throughout the platform, enhanced station lighting, digital signage along with audio announcements and wayfinding signage positioned for optimal viewing and clear delivery of information
Our community outreach is ongoing. We will continue to update these themes to reflect what we hear.
